Our design team will work with you to develop the best creative and practical design solution for your garden. The amount of design input that is appropriate for a project will depend on budget, size and personal aspirations and preferences.
After receiving site surveys and information about your project we will give you a no obligation quotation to carry out a design broken down into the following stages. Once you are happy to proceed we will then make an appointment to visit site to carry out a survey and site analysis. We also gain a better understanding of your brief.
Our fee breakdown will include details of the design process as set out below.
Site survey & analysis – Our visit to site involves a detailed survey. A full analysis of levels, aspect, views and soil conditions are also included. A survey plan is drawn up and forms the basis of our design of your project.
Outline proposals – This is the ideas bit. A design concept and outline proposal based on your brief will be prepared. This will show the main proposed structure of the garden, including paths, walls, hedges, terracing and planting areas. The plans will be illustrated by sketches, 3D images and/or photographs. We will meet to discuss the proposal at length to give a clear understanding of the design and how your finished garden will look. Initial discussions about material choices, design details and planting will also be discussed but not finalised at this stage.
Only once we are happy with the outline proposal will we then move on to the next stage.
Master-plan – Based on your comments on the outline proposal we will prepare a master-plan. This will be fully annotated indicating bespoke features, planting and finished levels. This will also include 3D visuals of the final scheme.
Specifications and Additional design services – Other drawing such as planting plans, lighting plans, construction drawings and schedules may be required. Tender documentation can be fully prepared to get tenders from companies.
