Barn conversion, Carlton Scroop
This home and garden was situated in a countryside location on a ridge overlooking views of the rural landscape beyond.

Gardeners garden with tiered flower beds
Site – An old farmyard with barn over looking the Lincolnshire countryside surrounded by stone walls.
Brief – The brief was to create a gardeners garden with space to relax and take in the views.

Rebuilt stone walls and sun-loving, perennial planting
Design – The existing stone walling that enclosed the garden were rebuilt. A gravel garden with split levels was created to make best use of the sloping site. The split levels were linked with brick steps to tie in with the brick work on the building. Soft perennial planting was used to soften the stone walling and link with the natural landscape beyond. Trees were also placed strategically to screen a neighbouring telecom aerial and to focus the eye away and towards the landscape beyond the walls.
